Mollie Harrison is a lifelong ballet artist, educator, and advocate for accessible dance education. With over 20 years in the ballet world, Mollie began her training at the age of five and has since carved out a career that bridges elite performance, academic insight, and empowering adult learners.
She trained at the prestigious National Theatre Ballet School before joining the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS), where she was mentored by artists and principals of The Australian Ballet. During her training, Mollie achieved her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Advanced 2 with distinction, won first place at the Ballet Teachers’ Workshop, was selected for an international exchange program in Germany, and performed the lead role of Carmen in VCASS’s final year production.
Following her acceptance into second year at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), Mollie returned to Melbourne to perform professionally with Melbourne City Ballet. It was during this time that her fascination with the body in motion led her to pursue academic studies in sport science. She completed a Bachelor in High Performance Sport, specialising in biomechanics, anatomy, and exercise physiology — deepening her understanding of how dancers move, recover, and excel.
After a break from the stage, Mollie returned as a performer with UNLID Dance Theatre under the direction of Jennifer Flennor O’Brien, including a highlight performance of F5 on the company’s 2024 Singapore tour.
Mollie combines her passion for ballet, science, and teaching as a lead educator at the Adult Ballet Centre in Melbourne and as the founder of BALLET.IQ — an online learning platform dedicated to helping adults around the world experience the joy, strength, and beauty of ballet at any age or stage.
